Explanation

This blog is beginning because of my upcoming trip/study abroad experience in OAXACA, MEXICO!  I'm leaving on August 22 and returning on Christmas Eve.  I stay with a host family whose identity I will hopefully be discovering in the next couple of weeks!  Ay!

The first 3 weeks of the trip will be intensive Spanish classes with Salsa lessons in the afternoon.  The next 6 weeks is classes taught in Spanish...I'm taking Sociology and Anthropology.  And finally, the last month is a full-time internship at a nonprofit organization.  I'm soooo excited!  Also, the PLU program works with Witness for Peace, so we are traveling a lot to Indigenous villages in the hill around the valley of Oaxaca, Chiapas, Mexico city, and more!

That is a bit of an intro.....thank you!  Here is a picture of the beautiful place that I will soon be in....

Hello all!  

 

I am starting a blog.  Yes.  Right.....NOW!  My purpose in this endeavor is to update and stay in touch with all my friends and family in the good 'ol U S of A while I am off in Mexico and somewhat unreachable via today's most common forms of communication and the most under appreciated form...."face time."  But this will be fun and I'll do my best to make it fun and interesting for all!
